Valles Marineris
This isn't new information, but it caught me off guard. I was watching TNG episode "The Bonding" (3x05) and noticed something... familiar.
During one scene, they are scanning a planet that was once home to the now "extinct" Koinonians. However, what they show on the viewscreen is definitely not an alien word. Observe:
It's Mars! Or more specifically, the Valles Marineris, the deepest canyon in the Solar System! Call off the search, life on Mars confirmed.
